1st Amendment (Freedom of Speech)

Source:"The Constitution of the United States of America" April 28, 2010

Constitutional Connection: First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech"

Analysis of the Connection: Freedom of Speech is important to everybody in the world. Everybody can talk, but some people are scared to speak up for what they believe in. NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE THOUGH. Everybody that is a somebody should know who Martin Luther King Jr. is. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the greatest man in the world. He was activist and prominent leader in the African American civil rights movement. His main legacy was to secure progress on civil rights in the United States. He is the person who wrote the famous :I have a Dream" Speech. If the United States did not have the freedom of speech he would have not been able to say that speech to all of the people who came to listen to him. That speech changed the world in so many ways. Thank God that we was able to speak it and not have to go to jail. GO FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
